  • Category: ham |

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was founded in 1865 making it the oldest international organization in the UN family. ITU is the leading United Nations agency for information and communication technology issues, and the global focal point for governments and the private sector in developing networks and services.

From its beginnings in 1865 up until the present ITU has produced a multitude of documents that chart the organization’s history and contribution to information and communication technology issues. The ITU History Portal will enable you to discover many of these documents, as well as learn how ITU has evolved.

Using the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen, you are invited to use the ITU History Portal to access a variety of information. Digitized historical documents and pertinent information can be found by accessing our series of historical micro-sites listed in this menu. We invite you to explore and enjoy some highlights from ITU’s illustrious history.
