… 340 active hams have contributed to make this CD possible. My own contribution has been to contact them and in some cases translate their stories and then assemble everything. This project has kept me away from the rig for more than 5 000 hours, but I have enjoyed the work very much and all those fantastic examples of true ham-spirit that everyone has shown!
If there is sufficient interest in the CD, I will try to continue to make updates. Would you like to see an even larger version 3 in 2011?

We all know how easy it is to copy a CD. If your friends would like you to make them a copy or if you want to make copies to send to your friends as a gift, I would be very grateful for $ 8 for each copy and – of course the calls of your friends for the updates! It is important to know the interest for the CD to motivate the effort to make updates. Please pay via Pay-Pal to sm7wtstan@gmail.com or by cash in an envelope (not with a check! The bank demands $ 20 to handle it!)

Let me emphasize that this is definitely not a commercial activity, but a few dollars for the 5 000 hours spent is appreciated!

If you like the CD, please tell your friends about it! Please send any corrections, suggestions or recommended additions direct to me. I hope you enjoy reading about all the fantastic hams on the C D! 73! Stan SM7W T (I can be heard as SF7W T since 2006).

What’s new since version 1.0, which was released in February, 2009?

More information added to Chapters 1, 2, and 6. Sadly, OK1MG and ZL1AV have passed away and they have been moved to Chapter 5, Silent Keys. Was I the first one to write a book, presenting hams? Did I invent the wheel?

No! I got my inspiration from a book in 1955, by SM5ZE (SK) where some of the pages presented a few famous SM-hams with photos a book by W3VKD (SK) “Ham Radio Register 1958” where he presented several hams. I loved that book, but it had no photos. With photos it would have been perfect!

I wrote my book, “Thanks to Amateur Radio” in1994. In those days the Internet was still unknown. Snail mail was used to exchange information with all hams, presented in the book.

I began working on this CD in 2005.
