Our Light Beam and Light Beam Plus Antenna products are designed for high performance in the Amateur Radio band from 20 to 10 meters depending on the model. They are very compact, with a very short turning radius. Comparing antennas designed for a given Ham band, the Light Beam antennas are 1/4 the width of a normal dipole or Yagi and are 1/2 the size of a fullwave quad antenna.
Optimized to operate at 30 feet, they are small and light enough to be easily mounted on a rooftop tripod or can even be positioned within an attic space. A simple pole structure can also be used to support the antenna at the optimum 30 feet. No heavy-duty tower is required.
Flexible mounting methods, combined with our design of an extremely strong and light weight support structure, results in an antenna system with low a visual impact and is nearly indestructible.
Technology :
All designs are computer optimized, using NEC2GO antenna modeling software, to operate at only 30 feet above the ground. The antennas are light weight and have a small surface area, enabling the use of light-weight tower and rotor components. Light Beam and Light Beam Plus antennas are compact – about 1/4 the width of a standard yagi beam. They are also 1/2 the width of a cubical quad. The efficiency of all Light Beam antennas is over 90%, which is remarkable considering their compact size! They are ideal for yards with limited space or where an antenna with low visual impact is necessary. In many cases, our antennas perform better than much larger antennas sold by other companies.
