The PSU-1250 offers a lot of power in a small enclosure. The supply is either switched to a fixed 13.8V or to a regulatable output voltage from 9 to 15V. The maximum power load may pek up to 50A, and can stay at 40A continuous load. This is absolutely sufficient for larger transceivers (200W) and accessories, or a small power amplifier.
The built-in ventilator is temperature regulated. At low loads the fan does not move at all, the power supply is completely silent. Only with longer lasting and higher loads the fan begins to turn to cool the compact electronics. To avoid the rarely occurring HF noise effects from the switching circuit a regulator can shift the frequency of the birdies.
The backlit analog meter can be switched to show the output voltage or the current. All operating controls are located on the front panel, the connections for AC and DC on the rear side.
