VE3VRW provides a downlink gateway which he links into our Repeater Network. The Gateway can be heard in the Toronto area via the SSPBD Amateur Radio Network or on the internet via Echolink ( VA3SF-R )
The gateway is currently tracking AO51 , AO27, SO50 , HO68, SO67 and ISS automatically using Don's AZ/EL rotators and Don's own designed Mac Tracking...
Launch of the geostationary Es’hail-2 satellite into orbit is planned for December 2016. The satellite will be placed in a 25.5° orbit. Coverage of the Amateur Radio narrowband (NB) and wideband (WB) transponders should extend from Brazil to Thailand.
Es’hail 2 will carry two “Phase 4” non-inverting Amateur Radio transponders operating in the 2.4 GHz and 10.45 GHz bands. A 250 kHz bandwidth...
A package of two satellites carrying Amateur Radio payloads has been deployed into orbit from the International Space Station (ISS) as part of a collaborative Texas A&M and University of Texas at Austin research effort. Built by Texas A&M students, AggieSat4 (AGS4) will release UT's Bevo-2 CubeSat in about a month, once it is far enough away from the ISS. Both schools received support from...
On Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 19:11:11 UT a Dnepr rocket was launched from Dombarovsky near Yasny in the Russian Federation carrying 37 satellites, 12 of which had amateur radio payloads.
Among the amateur radio payloads are a SSB/CW linear transponder, FM voice transponder, D-STAR Parrot Repeater and three Packet Radio Digipeaters. In total 33 satellites were deployed, the remaining four, Tigrisat,...
A "Dnepr" launcher set to lift off from Dombarovsky, near Yasny, Russia, on November 21 will carry more than two dozen satellites from 13 countries. Individual satellite teams are now in Yasny preparing their payloads for launch. Several of the satellites will carry Amateur Radio payloads, marking this as the largest single deployment of ham radio satellites. Paving the way for this month’s event...
SimpleSat Look Down' is a satellite tracking program designed for ease of use and is particularly well suited for demonstrations, educational environments and people new to the satellite hobby.
This program requires .Net 4 so you will have to install it if you do not have it installed already. Not sure ? Try running the program - if it runs you have it - if you do not have it you will see a message...
Computer hackers plan to take the internet beyond the reach of censors by putting their own communication satellites into orbit.
The scheme was outlined at the Chaos Communication Congress in Berlin.
The project's organisers said the Hackerspace Global Grid will also involve developing a grid of ground stations to track and communicate with the satellites.
Longer term they hope to help...
