{"id":15606,"date":"2010-07-30T05:08:15","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T03:08:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/blog\/?p=15606"},"modified":"2023-09-24T16:11:20","modified_gmt":"2023-09-24T16:11:20","slug":"dl6sn-arrested-in-lebbanon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/ham-radio-news\/dl6sn-arrested-in-lebbanon\/","title":{"rendered":"DL6SN Arrested in Lebbanon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/OD5_DL6SN.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15607\" title=\"OD5_DL6SN\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/OD5_DL6SN.jpg\" width=\"554\" height=\"415\" \/><\/a>Beirut &#8211; Lebanese army intelligence have arrested a German engineer on charges of spying for Israel, a Lebanese security source said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the source the man &#8211; identified as Manfred Peter Mog- was arrested in the area of Talia, in Eastern Lebanon, on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Mog, 58, worked at the dairy factory &#8220;Liban Lait&#8221;, near the ancient city of Baalbeck, in charge of the maintenance of all equipment in the facility.<!--more-->According to the source the German citizen was questioned about sophisticated transmitters in his possession.<\/p>\n<p>The German embassy in Beirut refused to confirm or deny if Mog was registered at the embassy as a German citizen working in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>The factory where Mog worked was destroyed during the July 2006 Israeli conflict with Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>In the past year around 70 people have been arrested in Lebanon on charges of spying for Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Last week the Lebanese cabinet unanimously agreed to file a complaint with the UN Security Council against Israel, over alleged spy rings uncovered in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>Israel has not commented on any of the Lebanese charges.<\/p>\n<p>The 13-member Hezbollah bloc in the Lebanese parliament stressed &#8220;the need to uncover and execute individuals charged with collaborating with Israel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Under Lebanese law, convicted spies face life in prison with hard labour or the death penalty if found guilty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beirut &#8211; Lebanese army intelligence have arrested a German engineer on charges of spying for Israel, a Lebanese security source said Tuesday.
