{"id":49655,"date":"2023-10-11T15:52:11","date_gmt":"2023-10-11T13:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/?p=49655"},"modified":"2023-10-11T15:50:29","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T13:50:29","slug":"dxtreme-monitor-log-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/new-equipment\/dxtreme-monitor-log-14\/","title":{"rendered":"DXtreme Monitor Log 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While chasing and listening to faraway broadcast stations remains popular, interest in monitoring aircraft, utility stations, and Amateur Radio is at an all-time high &#8230; providing many opportunities for nabbing a new country, a new state, or in the case of international aircraft received via HFDL, a new\u00a0<i>Grid Square<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Truly Good Times &#8230; enhanced even further by exciting new gear, less interference, a smoking-hot solar cycle, and a new version of\u00a0<b>DXtreme.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-49656 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/DXtremeMonitorLog14Utility-800x758.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"758\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/DXtremeMonitorLog14Utility-800x758.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/DXtremeMonitorLog14Utility-768x728.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cqdx.ru\/ham\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/DXtremeMonitorLog14Utility.jpg 809w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/>Signal Modes, Transmission Modes, Grid Square Tracking\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We added a\u00a0<b>Signal Modes\u00a0<\/b>field to let users specify the signal mode their receiver\u00a0<i>is tuned to\u00a0<\/i>(for example,\u00a0 AM, CW, FM, LSB, USB, RTTY, etc.) plus a\u00a0<b>Transmission Modes\u00a0<\/b>field to let users specify the transmission mode\u00a0 the station is\u00a0<i>transmitting\u00a0<\/i>(for example, CW, FAX, FT8, HFDL, MIL-STD-188-141A, SSB, STANAG 4285, etc.). And we added\u00a0<b>Signal\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0<b>Transmission Mode\u00a0<\/b>modules to let users maintain tables of signal and transmission\u00a0 modes.<\/li>\n<li>We added a\u00a0<b>Transmission Mode Details\u00a0<\/b>box to allow users to type free-form information about the\u00a0 transmission mode received, such as baud rate, bandwidth, etc. (for example,\u00a0<b>1200bps\/L<\/b>). New\u00a0<b>Log Variables\u00a0<\/b>enable users to share\u00a0<b>Signal<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Transmission<\/b>, and\u00a0<b>Detail\u00a0<\/b>mode information so readers (and users) can\u00a0 reproduce the monitoring environment and log (or relog) the stations. Here are two\u00a0 examples: \u201c<b>1200bps\/L STANAG 4285\u00a0<\/b>crypto tfc on\u00a0<b>USB<\/b>\u201d and \u201c<b>MIL-188-110A\/B\u00a0<\/b>continuous mode idle on\u00a0<b>LSB<\/b>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>We added support for tracking\u00a0<b>Maidenhead grid squares<\/b>, which is useful when monitoring\/logging stations\u00a0 not located in traditional countries, like aircraft and ships operating in international airspace and waters. Grid\u00a0 squares are calculated from specified latitudes and longitudes. Both\u00a0<b>Performance\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0<b>Stations\u00a0<\/b>reports let you\u00a0 track grids.\u00a0<b>Search\u00a0<\/b>functions let you find log entries for viewing or editing based on their grid squares.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Verification By Improv Imaging\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Similar to the legacy\u00a0<b>Verification By Audio\u00a0<\/b>feature, where the presence of an audio file in a log entry designates\u00a0 the station as \u201cVerified By Audio,\u201d we added a\u00a0<b>Verification By Improv Imaging\u00a0<\/b>feature which counts the station as\u00a0 \u201cVerified By Improv Image\u201d if the\u00a0<b>Shows ID\u00a0<\/b>check box on the\u00a0<b>Improv Imaging\u00a0<\/b>tab is selected, indicating the\u00a0 presence of an ID on the window of a captured digital software application (such as\u00a0<b>PC-HFDL<\/b>).\u00a0\u00a0<b>Performance<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Stations<\/b>, and\u00a0<b>Log Entries\u00a0<\/b>reports let you track verifications by traditional QSLs, presence of Audio\u00a0 files, and presence of Improv Images for which the\u00a0<b>Shows ID\u00a0<\/b>check box is selected.<\/p>\n<p><b>Schedule Checker Monitoring Advice and Tuning\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When\u00a0<b>Schedule Checker\u00a0<\/b>advises users to monitor a station for a new or verified Country, it does so now for\u00a0 the\u00a0<b>Class\u00a0<\/b>(<i>SWBC<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Ute<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Ham<\/i>,\u00a0<i>etc.<\/i>) and\u00a0<b>QSL Type\u00a0<\/b>(<i>Verified By QSL<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Audio<\/i>, or\u00a0<i>Improv Image<\/i>) selected in\u00a0<b>Properties<\/b>. The foreground and background colors that indicate the\u00a0<b>Schedule Checker\u2019s\u00a0<\/b>monitoring advice can be defined by users in\u00a0<b>Properties<\/b>. The colors appear in an upgraded legend on the\u00a0<b>Schedule Checker<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>Users can now tune their radios to the schedule item\u2019s signal mode and frequency by selecting the desired\u00a0 signal mode in the\u00a0<b>Signal Mode\u00a0<\/b>list box and double-clicking the schedule item.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Solar Indices Enhancements\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acquisition of current solar indices has been improved on the\u00a0<b>Monitor Log\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0<b>Schedule Checker\u00a0<\/b>windows. \u2022 Editing of solar indices has been added to the\u00a0<b>Monitor Log\u00a0<\/b>window for when NOAA is down.<\/li>\n<li>We restored historic solar indices adjustments based on date and time changes made on the\u00a0<b>Monitor\u00a0 Log\u00a0<\/b>window provided users have downloaded historic solar indices from the NOAA FTP site into the Solar subfolder.
