4O3A Signature Power Genius XXL Twin power amplifier

The Power Genius XXL Twin power amplifier is built with semiconductors and offers an output power of up to 3500 watts (combined). This is achieved by using four MRF 1K50H LDMOS transistors with 48V operating voltage, which promises particularly good linearity and purity of the signal. The power supply unit of the PowerGenius XXL Twin power amplifier is permanently installed, it processes a single-phase mains voltage of 90 to 250V AC and is therefore ideally equipped for international operation, for example with DX peditions.

Depending on the requirements and layout of the radio station, this amplifier can be operated either as two completely independent amplifiers (1500+W each) or as a single amplifier with an output of 3500W (combinied) in SO2R configuration. The TWIN topology offers the user incredible flexibility.

Features of the XXL TWIN include the MEffA algorithm and the first TWIN topology to combine two independent amplifier modules in one.

The MEffA system (Maximum Efficiency Algorithm) controls the efficiency depending on the output power. MEffA is a unique algorithm that adjusts the DC voltage level in the PA to the envelope of the exciting RF to achieve the highest efficiency.

The PA is of course prepared for remote-controlled operation and equipped for the connection of one or two transceivers (SO2R contest operation). A variety of connections are available for this purpose – from the band data connection to Icom CI-V and the serial CAT interface through to an Ethernet connection. FlexRadio transceivers in particular can be connected with minimal effort (nice and simple), but of course you can also use any other transceiver with the PA.

Operation with the Power Genius XXL Twin is further simplified by protective mechanisms that protect the power amplifier and the transceiver. The temperature is monitored, a warning is issued if the SWR is too high, the power is reduced and much more. A color LC display provides information about the current power and operating status. The only control element is the standby/operate button on the front, everything else is fully automatic. Nice and simple.

Extremely quiet cooling

A good amplifier needs a good cooling system. The use of oversized fans, which are controlled by software and controlled depending on the temperature, reduces the fan noise to a minimum.
