Ogasawara is located in the Pacific Ocean about 1,000 kilometers south of Tokyo. It takes 25.5 hours from Tokyo to Chichi-jima Island. There are made up of four main island groups; Mukojima(AS-031), Chichijima(AS-031), Hahajima(AS-031) and Kazan Islands(AS-030). Only Chichijima and Hahajima are inhabited. The popuration of islands are about 2,400. The climate of these islands are subtropical and these average temperatures are 22.7 degrees Celsius. It hardly snow or have frost. There are over 100 kinds of indigenous plants and more than 10 kinds of animals native to these islands.

ZL9HR activated from Campbell Island, a sub-antarctic island located 52°32′S 169°8′E. The DX expedition is organized by the Hellenic Amateur Radio Association of Australia, and comprises a multinational on-island team as well as a supporting crew in Australia and around the world.
Worked them on 40 & 20m SSB (listen 20m QSO below) and it was quite easy. Heard the signal on 40m /SSB but very weak. A lot Europeans were called.

Low Bands – Because we have to be off the island overnight, we will try to work DX on the low bands during the sunrise/sunset periods. At sunrise, we expect some possibility of propagation to EU and reasonable conditions to the western Pacific and Asia.
