The TSG4100A series of vector signal generators from Tektronix features three models that provide outputs that range from direct current to 2 GHz, 4 GHz, and 6 GHz. These instruments provide spur-free outputs with phase noise of -113 dBc/Hz at 20-kHz offset from a 1-Ghz carrier and a frequency resolution of 1 µHz at any frequency. They exhibit an amplitude accuracy ≤ ±0.30 dB (0 dBm CW signal at 22ºC) from 10 MHz to 6 GHz.
TSG4100A models support all the standard analog modulation modes—AM, FM, phase modulation, and pulse modulation—in addition to vector signal modulation modes through a software upgrade. The generators support a number of modulation schemes, including ASK, QPSK, DQPSK, 8PSK, FSK, CPM, 8VSB, 16VSB, and QAM from 4 through 256. With the vector signal software upgrade, the instrument provides full support for vector signal modulation on RF carriers between 400 MHz and 6 GHz.
