The OB9-5hd is a high-performance fiveband antenna designed for the 14, 18, 21, 24, and 28 MHz amateur radio bands. It delivers exceptional results, with impressive gain figures of 4.3 dBd on 20 meters, 4.5 dBd on 17 meters, 4.7 dBd on 15 meters, and 4.5 dBd on both the 12 and 10 meter bands—equivalent to 11.7 dBi, 12.0 dBi, and 12.3 dBi. Front-to-back ratios range from 18 dB on 20 meters to 25 dB on the 10, 12, and 15 meter bands, ensuring reliable performance across the spectrum.

The OB9-5hd is designed using advanced computer-aided simulation techniques and is carefully fine-tuned through extensive practical testing. At its core lies a directly coupled 5-element drivercell, where the active elements are interconnected by a phase line made of square tubes. The SWR performance ranges from 1.3 to 1.0 to 1.2 on 20 meters, 1.1 on 17 meters, 1.6 to 1.1 to 1.6 on 15 meters, 1.0 on 12 meters, and 1.6 to 1.2 to 1.5 on 10 meters, ensuring minimal signal loss.

Mechanically, the OB9-5hd has a maximum element length of 11.10 meters and a boom length of 5.10 meters. It weighs 30 kilograms and is designed to withstand wind speeds up to 130 km/h, with a wind load rating of 784 Newtons, 0.98 m², or 10.54 square feet.
